‘The Voice’ Winners Through the Years Where Are They Now

Since its debut in 2011, The Voice has become a launching pad for some of the most talented singers across the United States. With 25 winners crowned to date, the show has brought countless unforgettable performances, emotional moments, and inspiring success stories to millions of viewers.

Over the years, many champions have taken different paths after their time in the spotlight. From pursuing careers in music to exploring new opportunities, each winner’s journey is unique. Let’s take a look at where some of these talented artists are now and how The Voice helped shape their careers.

Season 1: Javier Colon

Javier Colon became the first-ever winner of The Voice, taking home $100,000 and securing a contract with Universal Music Group. However, he eventually parted ways with the label and later signed with Concord Music, according to PopSugar. In a 2014 interview with Buddy TV (via Mic), Colon opened up about his decision to leave Universal.

"I had high hopes going in, as I think everyone does," he shared. "But when you pour your heart and soul into an album you believe is great, and the label that's supposed to support, market, and promote it does none of that, it’s hard not to feel disappointed."

These days, Colon keeps fans engaged by sharing covers of popular songs on Instagram.

Season 2: Jermaine Paul

Jermaine Paul claimed victory in The Voice season 2 with a bit of guidance from Blake Shelton. After winning, Paul returned to his hometown of Spring Valley, New York, where he performed for children at the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center, as reported by LoHud.com.

"It means everything to me to go back, give back, and show love to my community," he said at the time.

In 2015, Paul released his debut solo album and earned two Grammy nominations. Reflecting on how his life had changed since winning, Paul shared, "Now, I’m more in control of my own destiny. I move at my own pace, whereas before, if Alicia wasn’t on the road, I had to find another gig. I was away from my family a lot. Now, I’m able to set my own schedule."

Before his victory, Paul had already enjoyed success performing alongside major artists like Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige. Today, he runs JP Entertainment and has released two albums: For the Record: Volume 1 in 2019 and its sequel in July 2020.

Season 3: Cassadee Pope

Cassadee Pope took home the crown in The Voice season 3. Following her win, she released several singles and her debut album, Frame by Frame, in 2013. After a brief hiatus, Pope returned in 2018 with the singles "Take You Home" and "One More Red Light." She then followed up with her second album, Stages, in 2019, and her third, Thrive, in 2021.

In February 2024, Pope announced a major shift in her musical direction, revealing to Rolling Stone that she was moving from country to rock. “I guess rock is in my bones more,” she explained, adding that the treatment of women in country music played a significant role in her decision. "In rock, you’re not completely ostracized and shamed for speaking out,” she said.

Pope has been in a relationship with Nashville actor and musician Sam Palladio since February 2018.

Season 4: Danielle Bradbery

Danielle Bradbery made history in 2013 by becoming the youngest winner of The Voice at just 16 years old. She released her self-titled debut album before the show, and in 2017, she followed up with her second album, I Don’t Believe We’ve Met.

Bradbery has continued to release new music, including the singles "Never Have I Ever" and "Girls in My Hometown" in 2020. Her third studio album, In Between: The Collection, was released in March 2022, further showcasing her evolving sound and growth as an artist.

Season 5: Tessanne Chin

Tessanne Chin won The Voice in season 5 and quickly gained recognition for her powerhouse vocals. Following her victory, she performed at the 2015 Daytime Emmy Awards, further cementing her presence in the music industry.

In her personal life, Chin married Brandon Crooks, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Zaia, in February 2020. Although she hasn't released new music in recent years, Chin remains active on YouTube, keeping in touch with her fans and sharing her latest updates.

Season 6: Josh Kaufman

Josh Kaufman took the crown in The Voice season 6 and soon transitioned to a successful career on Broadway, performing in Home for the Holidays in 2017.

Kaufman and his wife, Jennifer Myer, along with their five children, have since relocated to Indiana. He stays active in music as a member of the band The New Etiquette, while also performing solo and offering music lessons, as seen on his Instagram.

Season 7: Craig Wayne Boyd

Craig Wayne Boyd claimed victory in The Voice season 7 and released his final solo album, Top Shelf, in 2017.

Since then, Boyd has joined the band Texas Hill, which released an album in September 2020. The Texas native now divides his time between his music career and family life, where he plays an active role in raising his three children.

Season 8: Sawyer Fredericks

Sawyer Fredericks won The Voice in season 8, but eventually parted ways with Republic Records and Mick Management to pursue an independent music career.

In 2018, he released his album Hide Your Ghost, and since then, he has been actively touring both in person and virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fredericks also released another album, Flowers For You, in 2020, continuing to grow as an independent artist.

Season 9: Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith won The Voice in season 9 and quickly became the best-selling artist in the show's history. Over the years, he has released three albums, with his latest album dropping in 2018.

Though he hasn’t released a full album in recent years, Smith returned in October 2020 with a new song, "Angels We Have Heard," continuing to connect with his fans through fresh music.

Season 10: Alisan Porter

Alisan Porter captivated both judges and audiences in The Voice season 10, ultimately winning the title. After her victory, she briefly ventured into Broadway before forming a band called the Alisan Porter Project.

In September 2019, she released her album Pink Cloud, and nearly a year later, followed up with the single "Lungs", continuing to make her mark in the music industry.

Season 11: Sundance Head

Sundance Head won The Voice in season 11, but his record deal with Republic Records was put on hold as they searched for a partner. In 2018, he signed with Wildcatter Records and released his album Stained Glass & Neon in 2019.

Though he hasn’t released new professional recordings recently, Head continues to perform live across the U.S., keeping his connection with fans through live shows.

Season 12: Chris Blue

Chris Blue won The Voice season 12 and released his EP Fresh Start two years later. Although he's not very active on social media, Blue shared with Knox News in December 2020 that he was working on a new EP titled The Chris Blue Project. The first single, "Back 2 The Future," was released in 2020, with the full EP expected to follow in spring 2021.

Reflecting on his music career, Blue emphasized the importance of timing in the industry, saying, "It's not just about having a song that sonically feels good and sounds good. When you release music actually makes a world of difference."

Season 13: Chloe Kohanski

Chloe Kohanski, also known as mk, won The Voice in season 13. Since her victory, she has released several singles and is currently working on her debut album, which has yet to be named.

Season 14: Brynn Cartelli

Brynn Cartelli became the winner of The Voice in 2018, signing with Republic Records shortly after. She later parted ways with the label and joined Atlantic Records, where she is currently working on her debut album. Cartelli has already released four singles, including "Last Night's Mascara" and "Grow Young."

Season 15: Chevel Shepherd

Chevel Shepherd won The Voice in season 15 and quickly gained recognition, opening for Maroon 5 during their 2019 tour. She has since released four singles, including "The Letter."

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Shepherd graduated high school in 2020 and continues to pursue her music career, performing and sharing her songs with fans.

Season 16: Maelyn Jarmon

Season 18: Todd Tilghman

Season 19: Carter Rubin

Season 20: Cam Anthony

Cam Anthony won The Voice in May 2021, calling it "the time of my life" after his victory. Season 23: Gina Miles

Gina Miles claimed the The Voice trophy in May 2023 as a member of Team Niall Horan. The Illinois native's win marked a milestone for Horan, as it was his first victory as a coach since joining the show.

Season 24: Huntley

Huntley won The Voice in December 2023, giving coach Niall Horan his second consecutive victory. The talented singer, who received a four-chair turn during his blind audition, chose to join Horan’s team at the heartfelt request of his 6-year-old daughter.

Season 25: Asher HaVon

Asher HaVon made history as The Voice's first openly LGBTQ+ winner, claiming the season 25 championship in May 2024 under the guidance of coach Reba McEntire. In an emotional Instagram post celebrating his win, HaVon expressed his gratitude to McEntire, saying, "You have changed my life and created a milestone in my life that I will have forever. I am your son for life."
